HCG News
HCG (Human Consulting Group, CEO Park Jae-hyun), a leading AI × HR Tech company, announced on the 14th that it has completed patent registration for 'Apparatus and Method for Feedback Emotional Analysis,' for which it filed a patent application in February of last year. Given that patent registration for software algorithms is particularly stringent, this achievement holds significance as HCG's proprietary AI technology in the HR domain has received official recognition.
HCG's AI feedback sentiment analysis technology analyzes all text feedback related to HR evaluations, classifies sentiment as positive · negative · neutral, and provides key keywords as visual data.
At the core of this patent is a tree-based AI model with a three-stage classification structure, going beyond simple binary positive/negative classification of evaluation feedback. The model first scores and determines whether the text being analyzed is valid feedback, then scores the level of positive · negative sentiment, and finally combines the two results to classify the disposition as positive · negative · neutral.
HCG has achieved technical differentiation by training its AI model on an HR feedback-dedicated dataset rather than a general-purpose sentiment analysis model used for movie reviews or general comments. Approximately 160,000 data points were directly labeled by consultants with HR expertise before being used in training, enabling the model to precisely reflect the unique emotional expressions of the HR industry. Its strength lies in delivering stable classification performance even in real HR evaluation environments where positive · negative · neutral distributions are unbalanced and neutral expressions are common. The system also features automatic removal of sensitive data such as names and organization names to protect personal information.
HCG emphasized that this technology can automate the repetitive work of HR personnel — particularly team leaders — who previously had to manually classify thousands of subjective feedback responses, maximizing operational efficiency. By reducing the time and manpower devoted to feedback processing, it creates an environment where HR professionals can focus more on strategic work, while the HR-specialized AI model classifies feedback data with consistent standards to enhance evaluation objectivity.
Additionally, the system instantly visualizes analysis results through ▲word clouds ▲color coding ▲keyword rankings, while automatically extracting top positive · negative keywords. This enables managers to grasp overall evaluation trends at a glance without reading every feedback comment, supporting immediate decision-making.
HCG is applying its AI feedback sentiment analysis technology to its HR SaaS platform talenx, driving the transition to AI-powered HR solutions. Currently, companies across diverse industries including manufacturing, finance, retail, and IT are using talenx's AI-powered sentiment analysis features in HR evaluations. The technology is also scheduled for application to the HR systems of major Korean financial groups currently being built on HCG's flagship HR solution hunel.
A manager at a Korean large enterprise that adopted talenx commented, "I used to feel burdened by reading and organizing each team member's subjective feedback every evaluation season. Since using the AI-powered sentiment analysis feature, I can now grasp the key trends of each team member's feedback at a glance, improving both the quality and speed of evaluations."
Baek Seung-ah, CPO of HCG, stated, "This patent is a core technology asset supporting HCG's 'AI Powered HR' strategy." She added, "We will continue to advance our technology so that diverse HR data — including feedback analysis — can be utilized through AI, supporting HR management to lead to strategic decision-making."
