HCG News
HCG (Human Consulting Group, CEO Park Jae-hyun), a leading AI × HR Tech company, announced that it is operating a 'Recognition Credit' system that captures everyday contributions and collaboration within the organization as data, experimenting with a new approach to performance and rewards in HR operations.
Traditional reward systems at many companies have been concentrated at year-end or year-beginning periods, or driven primarily by manager recommendations — leaving everyday contributions and collaboration insufficiently recorded. Project support, peer collaboration, and invisible problem-solving have often been overlooked in evaluation and reward processes.
To address this structural gap, HCG launched the 'Recognition Credit' system in April 2024, built on top of the feedback feature in its own HR SaaS platform talenx. The system enables peers to send badges along with 'Recognition Credits' to one another, with each employee receiving 12 credits per quarter. Badges cover 12 of HCG's core values including performance orientation, teamwork, and customer success, designed to document specific actions and contributions.
The Recognition Credit system is integrated with talenx's performance management and feedback features, operating in real time. Employees can immediately give feedback and award badges to colleagues within talenx, with all generated data automatically accumulated and managed. This ensures recognition and feedback become a natural part of daily workflow rather than isolated events. Additionally, Recognition Credits received during a quarter are converted to cash and paid out at the beginning of the following quarter.
Operational results are also confirmed through data. According to HCG's 2025 operational data, a total of 3,337 badges were issued company-wide over the year. Of these, 'Teamwork' badges accounted for 1,229 — approximately 37% of the total — demonstrating that peer collaboration has become the most actively recognized value within the organization. 'Good Job' and 'Passion' badges also registered high shares, further evidence that the mutual recognition culture continues to operate consistently.
The accumulated data is also being used in the candidate selection process for the 'HCGer of the Year' award. Rather than relying on qualitative impressions or selective recommendations as in the past, the company can now make more objective judgments based on accumulated badge and credit data over set periods. Beyond this, the feedback and recognition data serves as a foundational data pool that can later be leveraged for talenx's AI-powered performance and evaluation analytics features.
HCG is extending the Recognition Credit system beyond internal use, applying it to select talenx customers to validate its scalability. The initiative offers a tangible example of the message that 'organizational culture is also an HR domain that can be designed and operated.' This signals that talenx is being utilized as more than a performance management tool — it has become a platform that connects employee behavior and values through data.
HCG stated, "Recognition Credits are not welfare benefits or one-off events — they are a consistent way of accumulating and managing what kinds of contributions and behaviors an organization considers valuable." The company added, "When everyday collaboration and performance remain as data, and when that data flows naturally into evaluation and rewards, the credibility and fairness of organizational operations rise together."
